The Secondary students have enjoyed their residential trips this week. The Year 6 students spent 4 days and 3 nights on Changxing Island. The Y7 & 8s were on the bigger Chongming Island for 5 days and 4 nights, whilst our Y9 & 10 students went to Haiwan park, again for 5 days and 4 nights. The feedback from all 3 trips has been so overwhelmingly positive that I am already looking at next year's residentials.

After visiting the staff and students on Chongming Island this week I could immediately see that the activities run by Insight Adventures were diverse and of a high-quality. They have had opportunities to enhance confidence, team work, or activities to encourage independence and a sense of personal responsibility. The activities on offer contribute to our wider learning process and takes the students outside of their comfort zones giving them experiences they may not otherwise have. The photos show that the students were clearly challenged, and it is pleasing to see their determination to overcome all obstacles. Next week I am looking forward to seeing all of the wonderful costumes as we celebrate International Day. I will be dusting off my Welsh rugby jersey ready for Friday. However, before this we have the House day on Wednesday.
