This week, our secondary students took part in Global Wellbeing Week — five days dedicated to a subject that matters as much as anything on the academic timetable: how our pupils are feeling, coping and growing as young people. Each day carried a different focus, moving through stress and calm, physical wellbeing, friendship and belonging, purpose and ambition, and finally celebration. The week was woven throughout tutor time, assemblies and lessons, blending moments of quiet reflection with genuine fun, and it asked students to think honestly about what helps them feel well, both now and as they grow older.

Adolescence is a demanding time of life, and we hold firmly to the view that wellbeing is not an optional extra alongside academic life but the foundation of it. A student who feels settled, supported and understood is simply better placed to learn, to form good friendships and to face the pressures that come with growing up. Weeks like this one are not meant as a single dose of wellbeing to see pupils through the term, but as a deliberate, visible reminder of habits and conversations we hope continue long after the week itself has ended.

We were proud of how the whole community embraced the week, and we are already looking forward to building on it. Thank you, as ever, for the part you play in your child's wellbeing at home, and for trusting us with the part we play in it at school.
