Britannica is always bustling, it is in our nature. We want to give our students as many opportunities as we can for them to explore. Through this they can find out about their own strengths and weakness/ likes and dislikes. As always, the Autumn tends to be the busiest term of all. We have new students and staff to integrate, new timetables get used to, as well as procedures and initiatives to adapt to as we seek school improvement. This term there have been many highlights both inside and outside of the classroom. However, the one thing that has stood out for me is the return of inter school sports. It has been delightful to see our students taking on teams from other schools in football and swimming. Some of the other schools may be bigger than us but we certainly punch above our weight. Inter school competition is a crucial element for the holistic development of any student. Not only does it provide students with the health benefits of being active it also promotes the 4 Cs of education, communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. I for one am looking forward to seeing our students in action again next term.
I would like to wish all of our families in the Britannica community a restful holiday and, if you celebrate it, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
