This week, students from Year Seven to Ten began trying out their soliloquys, tableaus, and dramatic voices in their summer term Shakespeare units, which include: Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, and Othello. At Year Seven and Eight there is more of a focus on student-friendly translations of the original, with regular dives into the old text for a challenge. This helps to build an appreciation and enjoyment of Shakespeare while gradually building students up towards their GCSE pathway, in which deeper analysis of the original language will be required.
