Since returning to school, the pupils have settled back into their daily routines nicely and I have been very impressed with what I have so far witnessed within the classroom. Alongside Mr. Louw and myself, the English department has now also been joined by Mrs. Crew-Hall, a veteran teacher of 15 years who has taught in London for the last 10 years.

The combined experience of our department will ensure that the pupils of Britannica are in comfortable hands this year.

As we begin a new academic year, we look back on the achievements of the previous year. The Year 11 and Year 12 students managed to achieve excellent English results across the board in their exams this summer, with more than half of the Y11 students achieving A*-C.

Whilst the Y12s received a 100% pass rate for their English Language exams at A/S level. This bodes very well for them as they undertake their final year of studies.

As Britannica continues to grow, we have also been joined by a number of new pupils in the secondary school. I have been communicating with Mr. McCabe and the EAL department to ensure that all of the necessary support and guidance will be provided for those pupils who require the extra English support.

Furthermore, there are now a number of ASAs up and running throughout the week that are directly linked to supporting English learners.
