This year’s STEAM Week took our students on an exciting journey beyond Earth with the theme “Space” — a celebration of creativity, discovery, and hands-on exploration. From designing rockets to exploring the cosmos, students across the school immersed themselves in interactive activities that blended Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics in truly out-of-this-world ways.
The week began with our Mini Rocket Launch, where students designed, built, and tested their own rockets. Using simple materials and clever design principles, they experimented with propulsion and aerodynamics — and enjoyed seeing whose rocket could soar the furthest!
A highlight of the week was the Year 6 and 7 trip to the Shanghai Astronomy Museum. Students were captivated by the immersive exhibits, learning about galaxies, planets, and the mysteries of our universe through interactive displays and simulations. The experience deepened their curiosity about space exploration and our place in the cosmos.
The week also featured returning favourites like DIY Keychains and Science Model Kits, giving students another opportunity to combine creativity with scientific thinking through fun, hands-on projects.
To wrap up the week, students explored the sweeter side of science with the Honeycomb Challenge. By mixing simple ingredients and watching them transform into golden, crunchy honeycomb, they learned about chemical reactions, temperature control, and the science of caramelisation — with a delicious reward at the end!
STEAM Week 2025 was a wonderful celebration of imagination, innovation, and curiosity. Our students embraced every challenge with enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork in a week that brought science and imagination together in the best possible way.
