Educational trips play a vital role in enhancing the learning experience for primary students, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. These excursions foster curiosity, ignite creativity, and provide hands-on learning opportunities that deepen students' understanding of various subjects. By stepping outside the classroom, children engage with their environment in meaningful ways, developing social skills, teamwork, and a love for exploration.
Year 1 Adventures at Shanghai Wildlife Park
The Year 1 students kicked off their learning adventures this term with an exciting visit to Shanghai Wildlife Park! Tying in beautifully with their Science topic, “Animals Including Humans,” the trip allowed our young explorers to observe a variety of animals up close, from majestic giraffes to playful elephants. They learned about habitats, diets, and behaviors, all while capturing their experiences as budding wildlife photographers for their ICT unit on photography. It was a day brimming with discovery and creativity that truly brought classroom learning to life!

Year 3's Journey at Shanghai Natural History Museum
The Year 3 students embarked on a fantastic adventure to the Shanghai Natural History Museum. They explored massive exhibitions featuring fossils, diverse biomes, and incredible animal adaptations. The sheer size of some of the animals left them in awe, deepening their understanding of how these creatures adapt to their environments. A class favorite was the Africa exhibit, which included a captivating visual show depicting a day in the life of African animals, enriched by some personal insights from their enthusiastic teachers!
Year 4's Creative Trip to the Pottery Center
The Year 4 students' first trip this year was a memorable one, aligning perfectly with their topic on the Ancient Greeks. They visited a pottery-making center where they designed and crafted their very own clay vases in ancient Greek style. Getting their hands messy with clay added to the fun, and they diligently painted their final designs. We eagerly await the completed versions, which will undoubtedly serve as cherished mementos of this enriching outing!
Year 5's Excursion to Nine Merits Organic Farming Retreat
What an incredible time Year 5 had at the Nine Merits Organic Farming Retreat! On October 13th, the children explored the farm, relishing the fresh air and sunshine while connecting with nature. They fed goats, rabbits, and baby lambs and even held a tiny duckling.
