On Tuesday, 11th September, all of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 gathered excitedly in the fabulous Britannica theatre for an extra special assembly. The spectacular occasion marked the end of our writing competition where children were invited to write a story about one of the school's vision statements; collaborative, empowering, inspiring and inclusive.

Mr Monnington and Ms Smyth were thrilled to receive well over 200 entries overall. Each of these children received a golden ticket which grants them an extra special place at our House Reading Picnic happening this Friday afternoon. All of the stories that were entered were brilliant and this made picking the winning choices a difficult decision. But like any competition, the winners had to be picked. So, in the assembly this morning, eight children were given an award, having been chosen as the best stories in their category.

For KS1 this was:
Collaborative – Stephen 2C
Inspire – Lincoln 2E
Empowering – Siu 2C
Inclusive – Kiera – 1B

For KS2 this was
Collaborative – Min Jong 6A
Inspire – David 4A
Empowering – Elavi 5A
Inclusive – Anahita 4A

Congratulations to all of the children who submitted an entry and thank you to parents for their support with this school event. Preparations are now going on to make our House Picnics on Friday a true success.
