On Friday 16th August, Britannica International School, Shanghai re-opened its doors to welcome this year’s new intake of students. The staff at Britannica were delighted to greet the largest ever new cohort of students, reflecting the strong presence that Britannica now has on the Shanghai International School circuit. With a 33% increase in Secondary students this year and additional classes opening up in Early Years and Primary, the school is rapidly increasing towards maximum capacity.

New students had the opportunity to meet their Form Teachers, who will be responsible for their overall pastoral and academic care, along with the opportunity to have some taster lessons in subjects. Last year’s returning students will join them on Monday 19th August, when the academic year will formally start.

All new parents and returning parents in Early Years also had the opportunity to have a personal meeting with their child’s class teacher, ensuring that our approach to personalised education gets off to a great start and that teachers know their incoming new students well.

Our Head of Secondary took the opportunity to hold personal meetings with all parents and students returning to join Year 12, to review with them their recently released examination results and ensure the students have a smooth path into Sixth Form, when their new studies start on Monday.

Plans for our first Open Days, to showcase to further prospective parents all that Britannica has to offer, are already planned for 22nd August and 5th September. Parents wishing to register for these Open Days should click here.

Parents who still need to place their child into a school for this new academic term are advised to register for one of these Open Days or contact our Admissions Office at admissions@britannicashanghai.com to secure a personal appointment and tour of the school.
