It was lovely to see parents attending our ‘Meet the Teacher’ event this Monday, where parents were able to find out more about the curriculum for each year group. Every year this is a wonderful example of the collaboration between school and home ensuring parents have an understanding of how their child will learn throughout the year. For parents who were unable to attend we have uploaded the presentations onto Tapestry, so everyone has a copy available to them and any questions parents may have please do not hesitate to speak to or email your child’s class teacher.

With the mention of Tapestry, I am happy to announce that your child’s Tapestry Learning Journal is ready to go of this academic year. If you are a returning parent your child’s Tapestry journal will have continued up to their next year group in EYFS and for new parents I hope you have been able to login and begin to experience Tapestry in action. This year in EYFS we will be using Tapestry not only to share the amazing work and progress your child will make, but also share key information. For example, topic overviews. As a parent this will give you a real insight into your child’s year at Britannica and support learning at school and at home. Please do regularly check your child’s Tapestry learning journal to keep up to date with weekly observations made.

As the children have settled into EYFS, next week each year group will begin their first topic of the year.

Reception look forward to going ‘All around the World,

Nursery will be looking at ‘People Who Help Us’,

And Pre-Nursery will explore ‘Brown, Bear, Brown Bear’ by Eric Carle.
