Years 4, 5 and 6 returned safely from an exciting four-day three-night residential in Changxing Island yesterday. We had a wonderful time trying out various activities and challenging ourselves as we tackled the leap of faith, rock climbing, kayaking and archery. We had to use teamwork as we battled in laser tag, gaga ball and orienteering. Furthermore, we also learned how to make fire and shelters so that we could survive in the wilderness and enjoyed singing songs and dancing around the campfire on our last night. A highlight for me was seeing how the children encouraged each other during some of the more challenging activities as well as their words of support, praise and reassurance; well done to all!

During today’s assembly some of the students shared their reflections and experiences with the rest of Key Stage Two and it was pleasing to see them talk with such confidence and enthusiasm about the trip. So much so that Year 3 are already looking forward to their turn to stay away!
