Everywhere you turned in PE on Wednesday you saw a sea of children wearing blue, green, red and yellow colours running around and having a thoroughly good time. There were shouts of joy, displays of triumph and an atmosphere of team work and team spirit all day. It was House Sports Competition day! A day where students come together from different year groups to play sport and compete against other each other whilst representing their houses. There were some fantastic displays of dribbling and passing by our Year 1 and 2 students in the football matches and Year 3 and 4 were masters of dodging the dodgeballs. Year 5 were the experts when it came to hoop ball with a dazzling performance of throwing, catching and scoring in the hoop. Even the teachers got involved, but they weren’t nearly as good as the students!! Year 6 had the opportunity to join the secondary school in their house competitions and worked along years 7,8,9 and 10 to score goals and win games. All students took part in all the events going on and a huge thank you needs to go out to our year 9, 10 and 12 students who acted as sports leaders during the competitions, these students showed excellent maturity, motivation and leadership skills. The points have been added up and results are in! Medals will be given out in assembly to the winners…
