Curriculum enrichment is an important factor in a well-rounded education. This week has provided many enjoyable, educational and meaningful activities for our students.

On Monday all Secondary students were treated to a performance from a UK based Shakespeare performance academy. The performance itself was full of laughter, a well-crafted plot and linked directly with what students are currently learning in their English lessons.

Elsewhere, students have been preparing for this weekend’s ASDAN Business simulation competition, where they are enabled to apply their in-school learning to real-world situations. ASDAN Business Simulation is set in a virtual marketplace in which students can establish and manage their own company. The simulation offers students the opportunity to gain experience in business management, human resources, pricing, marketing, market research, and finance.

Some of our IGCSE artists have excelled in their recent studies, resulting in their artwork being professionally auctioned in aid of charity. What a wonderful achievement and a great example of the academic, responsible and caring students we have. Ms Christoforatou has written separately with more information, please do enjoy.

I had the pleasure of presenting to our current Year 6 parents and students this week. The presentation covered the important aspects of making a successful transition between Primary and Secondary phases. Mr Rosenberg, Ms Phillips and Mr Bell contributed by delivering sections on Secondary Mathematics, English and Technology respectively.

I will write to parents in the near future about parent workshop and transition events which will help to further explain the advantages and opportunities of Secondary education here at Britannica.
