As my first term as Head of Secondary at Britannica draws to a close, I am able to look back and reflect on what has been a busy but thoroughly rewarding time. It has been fantastic getting to know the Secondary students and to see the progress they have made.

A school should never just be an academic institution, of course attainment is vital to our student's success, however, we must remain focused on a holistic approach to education. With this mind there have been a number of highlights outside of the classroom for me this term. The Inter House competition has been in full flight with a number of sporting events taking place as well the House Quiz organised by our Head Boy and Head Girl.

The Winter Concert was a great success despite the fact that we were unable to invite any of our parents in to watch it. It is always rewarding to see such talented actors and the students always get a great sense of fulfilment after performing. Although the inter school programme has been put on hold our Britannica Knights sports teams have kept up their training and we even managed to hold a simulated swim meet against local international schools.

Next term promises to be just as eventful, starting with the Year 11-13 Mock Examinations in January. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our students on a productive term and my thanks goes to the Secondary staff for all of their hard work and commitment.

I wish you all a peaceful and restful holiday, and I look forward to seeing everyone revitalised in the new year.
