This week the children in Early Years have immersed themselves into Maths Week. Maths in the Early Years lays the foundation for a lifelong love of numbers and problem-solving. It provides young learners with hands-on experiences and engaging activities that develop their mathematical thinking and reasoning abilities. By introducing mathematical concepts in a fun and interactive way, Maths Week ignites curiosity and builds confidence, setting the stage for future academic success in mathematics.

Throughout the week the children had the opportunity to develop their understanding of numbers and time. Nursery and Reception were thrilled to go to Year 3 on Wednesday, this cross-year collaboration provided valuable opportunities for learning, with older students teaching concepts such as 1:1 number recognition and problem-solving involving money. The knowledge gained during Maths Week will undoubtedly be applied and expanded upon in the coming weeks, further enhancing the children's mathematical skills.
