At Britannica International School Shanghai, the celebration of the Italian Language Week has now become a well-established tradition. Over the years, students and families have enthusiastically taken part in many activities: from language games to cultural projects developed during the year, up to collective celebrations that have highlighted the Italian language and culture.
This year, the school joins the celebration of the 25th Week of the Italian Language in the World, which carries the theme “Italophonia: language beyond borders.” An invitation to imagine an international community united by the passion for Italian, recognising the language not only as a means of communication, but also as a cultural and social bond that brings us closer to Italy.
Britannica’s commitment to the Italian community
For years, Britannica International School has been committed to promoting the Italian language and culture, creating a space dedicated both to Italian students and to all those who wish to approach this language. The goal is to offer an environment where learning means not only acquiring skills but also becoming part of a vibrant and inclusive community.
The novelty of 2025 is the opening of the event to the entire city: no longer limited only to the school’s students, but also to Shanghai students interested in Italian, to professionals eager to challenge themselves, and to families wishing to spend an afternoon together full of stimulating activities.
In addition, this year the initiative is organized in collaboration with AIILIC (Italian Language Teachers Association), strengthening the bond with an international network of experts and enthusiasts who promote Italian around the world.
