At Britannica, the art and design curriculum is a vital part of our students' educational journeys. Many of our older students seize the opportunity to pursue art at higher levels, focusing on GCSE and A-Level qualifications. Art and design help young adults foster creative expression, critical thinking, and visual skill development. They are encouraged to engage with the visual arts, which enhances cultural awareness and facilitates real-life connections.

As part of the process for our exam students, they prepare a visual portfolio that includes a diverse range of works, documents the making process, and maintains thematic cohesion. It is essential for them to present their personal ideas effectively and reflect on their work through detailed annotation notes that explain their thought process to the external examiner.

Our current A-Level students are preparing their university portfolios and will sit a fifteen-hour exam over three days next year, showcasing the very best of their visual talents. We are proud of the dedication and commitment of our current cohort of artists at Britannica. These students, who have immersed themselves in their art projects, will apply to prestigious art universities, where they will become the innovators shaping our vision of the future.
