As our Year 11 to 13 students continue to complete their IGCSE and A Level examinations the lower year groups have been enjoying the residential trips. The Year 6 & 7 traveled to Yangshuo, Guilin Province whilst our Year 8 to 10 students have been on Jeju Island, South Korea.

The weather on both trips was at times challenging but this did not dampen the spirits of the students nor the teachers who travelled with them. Our students have been physically challenged by activities such as hiking to the top of Mount Hallsan, sea kayaking, rock climbing, snorkeling and orienteering. Less vigorous activities included a visit to a night market, fan decoration, BBQ and a fireworks display.

Adventurous residential weeks offer students invaluable benefits that extend well beyond the classroom. Such trips encourage independence by allowing students to step away from their home environment and learn to manage daily tasks on their own. Confidence and self-esteem receive a significant boost as students overcome new challenges and succeed in activities they might not have tried before.

Although all involved will be exhausted by the time they return the week will create lasting memories that students cherish for years. These experiences can ignite a passion for exploration and lifelong learning, enriching their educational journey and personal development.
