Global Wellbeing Week. Day 5
As we conclude Global Wellbeing Week 2025-2026 at Britannica International School, Shanghai, today’s focus is on the Importance of Reflection. This initiative has aimed to enhance the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of our students within the Orbital Education community. Each day this week has spotlighted unique themes, culminating in our collaborative efforts to create a Global Student Wellbeing Charter.
Importance of Reflection for Children
Reflection is a vital part of personal growth and emotional development. By encouraging students to reflect on their experiences, we help them gain insights into their feelings, learn from their actions, and understand the significance of their wellbeing journey. This practice fosters integrity and self-awareness, essential components for lifelong success.
Today's Activities
Today's theme centered on reflection, with activities designed to help students articulate their thoughts and feelings from the week.
- Whole School: Students participated in a Collaborative Wellbeing Charter Workshop, where they came together to discuss their experiences and ideas for the Wellbeing Charter. This charter aims to promote individual and collective wellbeing while strengthening connections within the Orbital Education community.
- EYFS: Students engaged in The Kindness Tree, a beautifully simple activity designed to foster empathy, kindness, and positive social interactions. This activity provides a visual representation of acts of kindness, reinforcing the value of caring for others.
- Primary: Students engaged in the Reflection and Presentation of the Mindfulness Gallery. They created reflection leaves, using templates to express their thoughts and experiences from the week. Students had the option to write or draw, inspired by the activities they participated in throughout the week.
- Secondary: Students took part in a Reflective Tree Activity, where they reflected on their wellbeing journey and contributed ideas for the Wellbeing Charter. Additionally, a student council meeting took place with head students to discuss and present their ideas for the charter.
The Wellbeing Charter
The Global Wellbeing Charter aims to encapsulate the aspirations of our global student body. By engaging in impactful activities that reflect our core values, we will foster a lasting culture of wellbeing within the Orbital Education community.
As we wrap up Global Wellbeing Week, we encourage all students to continue reflecting on their experiences and consider how they can contribute to a culture of wellbeing moving forward. Thank you for participating in this transformative week, and we look forward to seeing the impact of our collective efforts through the Wellbeing Charter!
