What a wonderful first week I’ve enjoyed at Britannica – getting to know your children, hearing about their holidays, talking with them about their hopes for the year ahead and, after a long summer break, getting stuck into some learning! I was particularly pleased, in our first assembly last Friday, that the children and I were in one mind about the attributes of a ‘perfect’ student – academically successful, of course, but more even more importantly a good person, who cares for others, and always tries their best.

It’s very clear to me that Britannica is a happy, warm community, full of kindness and fun, and I’m very grateful for the welcome that I’ve received from students, parents, and colleagues. Having seen the final public exam results of the 2025-2026 season, published earlier this week, it’s also clear that our students do very, very well indeed:
- 46% of all IGCSEs were awarded A*/A, which bodes very well for success as our students embark upon their Sixth Form studies.
- Almost two-thirds of AS-Levels were awarded A/B, which will be an excellent springboard to outstanding results next year.
- Our graduating students enjoyed a 100% pass rate, with several subjects achieving 100% A*-B grades, and will soon be on their way to universities around the world.
It’s been a fantastic start to the year – and, over the coming weeks and months, I’m looking forward to working with you all to build on the school’s successes and take Britannica to even greater heights!
