Day 2: Immersing in Chinese Culture — Museums, Qibao and Shanghainese Flavours
Day two of the Orbital Education Leadership Conference deepened students’ cultural understanding with a full day dedicated to Chinese heritage. Delegates explored Shanghai’s rich history through guided visits to key museums, where artefacts and exhibitions sparked conversation about tradition, identity and the role of culture in leadership. The group then travelled to Qibao Watertown, wandering its historic lanes, sampling local crafts and observing community life — a vivid, hands‑on lesson in cultural context.
The day concluded with a traditional Shanghainese group dinner, where students shared reflections and formed deeper connections over local cuisine. The experience reinforced the conference’s aim: leadership rooted in awareness, respect and curiosity about the world around us.

Day 3: Innovation, Ethics and a Night on the Huangpu
On day three the conference returned to leadership workshops focused on future-facing skills. The morning sessions covered Innovation and Problem Solving, challenging students to think creatively, prototype solutions and collaborate under realistic constraints. The afternoon session, Ethical Leadership and Responsibility, explored integrity, accountability and the long‑term impact of decisions — prompting thoughtful discussion about leading with purpose.
To close the day, students enjoyed an evening cruise on the Huangpu River. As Shanghai’s skyline lit up, delegates shared a celebratory dinner and reflected on their learning, friendships and new perspectives. It was a fitting finale: inspiring, reflective and full of optimism for the leaders these young people are becoming.
Stay tuned for more highlights as the conference continues.
