Paul was born and raised in East Yorkshire, England. He studied at Northumbria University, where he earned a BA in History. After graduating, Paul studied a Mathematics STEM conversion before completing his PGCE and gaining his Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Paul taught in schools in East Yorkshire for 5 years before coming to Shanghai, holding leadership roles that included Key Stage 5 Coordinator and Key Stage 3 Intervention Lead.

Paul has been at Britannica International School Shanghai, where he has been teaching for the past 9 years. In total, he has over 14 years of teaching experience in Mathematics.

At Britannica, Paul has taken on various leadership roles, including Exams Officer and Whole School Assessment Coordinator, before becoming the Head of Mathematics. Throughout his career, Paul’s classes have always achieved excellent progress results in tests administered by outside providers.
