Global Wellbeing Week. Day 3.
Today, we continue with Global Wellbeing Week 2025-2026 at Britannica International School, Shanghai, focusing on the Importance of Physical Health. This initiative is designed to enhance the mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing of our students within the Orbital Education community. Each day of the week features a unique theme, with summaries highlighting our engaging activities.
Importance of Physical Health for Children
Physical health is fundamental for children's overall development and academic success. Regular physical activity not only promotes physical fitness but also improves concentration, boosts mood, and enhances cognitive functions. By understanding the significance of physical health, we encourage our students to adopt healthy habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Today's Activities
Today's theme revolved around physical health, with activities designed to promote fitness, teamwork, and overall wellbeing.
- EYFS: Students participated in a Cooperative Fitness Adventure, engaging in an obstacle course and team games that promoted cooperation and physical activity. The outcome was the development of teamwork skills, culminating in the creation of a "Teamwork Badge" to celebrate their collaborative efforts.
- Primary: Students enjoyed a Morning Yoga session led by their teacher. This activity helped them feel both physically and mentally prepared for the day ahead.

- Secondary: The day featured an Exercise Competition, consisting of two engaging activities:
- Improving Mental Well-being Through Exercise: Students of all ages participated in various exercises aimed at releasing endorphins, contributing to enhanced mental wellbeing.
- Improving Physical Well-being: An inter-house exercise competition was facilitated by senior students. Participants completed a set number of repetitions for each exercise, earning points for their house or class. The house with the most cumulative points won the competition. This activity encouraged students to complete four different sets of exercises, fostering physical health and friendly competition.
As we acknowledge the importance of physical health today, we encourage all students to reflect on their fitness routines and consider how they can maintain an active lifestyle. Stay tuned for tomorrow's article as we delve into another important theme during Global Wellbeing Week!
